The Beginning of Dreams...captured

Anybody that knows me, knows that I like A LOT of different things. I am interested in tons and tons of different school-type topics and skills I hope to learn. If I could, I would go to college for the rest of my life. I would become a fashion and interior designer and then go to medical school to become a doctor. A jack of all trades, if you will.
However, I probably won't have the funds, smarts, or time to pursue this dream. Fortunately, a lot of the things I want to learn how to do are creative endeavors. Since my major became communications with an emphasis in broadcasting, I have learned the basics of video recording and editing. The next creative endeavor I want to pursue is similar...photography. Now, I don't just mean using my point-and-shoot digital camera I already have to take cool pictures with my friends. I really want a nice(ish) digital SLR camera that I can use to create nice images wherever I go.
So, if anybody wants to make my life complete and get me one, I'll be outrageously thankful. But, I know I will probably have to wait a while before I can afford one...oh well. Life too good to complain and I will continue capturing it on Tom's camera (mine has some issues)....ask Tom for details.
This is what I wish for:

But, I know I'm okay without it. I am so blessed and my life is wonderful!

Making Lists...

I have a lot to do. The things I have to do are all in some way related to an upcoming event in my life: my wedding and subsequent marriage!
I need to get hustling on plans (along with the kind help of my Mother).
Also, Tom and I need to find a place to live and some furniture for this Summer semester.
P.S. Tom's Mom bought me these shoes for the wedding:
They are beautiful, in my opinion!

Honeymoon...in the Bahamas?

I came back to Arizona yesterday and when I talked to my Dad, and told him that Tom and I probably weren't going on a cruise because I can't afford a passport (or get it in-time). But, he graciously told me he would pay for it! And, he's going to get it fast (it's more expensive).

So tonight, Thomas and I were scouring the internet searching for Bahama deals, and we found one that is cheap and will work so we get back for our reception in Miami! Thank you Norwegian Cruise Lines for taking off March 8th and returning on March 12th at the Miami Port. And, especially- thank you Tom's parents for buying the cruise for us. I'm so outrageously grateful. I can't wait to go somewhere beautiful and different and brand-new to me! It's time to start my world traveling...with Thomas, of course. I couldn't go anywhere without him.
I love him!

Engagement Pictures!

I've been terrible about keeping up my blog posts, but since I've been stalking so many wedding blogs lately and get upset if there isn't something brand-new the next day, I figured I should be better. So, here I am.

Right now I'm watching "Say Yes to the Dress" on TLC and am really excited that I found a dress that I LOVE for less than any of those dresses...and it has sleeves. My friend went wedding dress shopping for the first time and fell in love with a Priscilla of Boston gown, but it costs $4,00.

Anyways, as wedding plans are fully underway, I'm enjoying spending more and more time with Tom and realize he makes me happier than any person in the whole wide world. I LOVE him! Anyway, when we were in Arizona for Christmas, we were able to take our engagement pictures. Jessica Drew took our pictures, and I was so glad. She has been my friend since Preschool! I love her and she did a fabulous job! Here are a few of our favorites in addition to the one at the beginning of this post:

That's Life for You

I have become concerned.

Concerned because I don't think I have been planning enough for my wedding. I haven't had time to even try on a single dress yet, but people have been asking me about all sorts of details. Am I really supposed to already know who is making my cake and what it's going to look like? I feel incapable of making any definitive plans until I get home because I can't meet with anyone, try on hardly any dresses, check out any venue, or buy any decorations without being in the state it is going to be in. Also, I would love to have some collaboration with my Mom and Dad, who also will be funding. My other problem is time- I'm taking 7 classes total and working part-time. All bridal stores close at 6pm and I just haven't made it in to any of these Idaho shops yet. I guess all I'm saying is that I didn't know I was supposed to have everything ready for my wedding this soon. I hope I can get everything done when I'm home; I plan on planning basically everything then.

Wedding Plans

I finally have some ideas for my wedding! We also have a date. We are getting married March 5th in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. However, that date is still up for changes, as we see fit.

Onto my ideas. I have a color palette. I'm thinking of using firstly white (it IS a wedding) and then using red and coral and throwing in a splash of teal. Here is a picture that better illustrates my vision:

Here is a fabulous cake I would love to have mimicked (maybe not as tall though):

Engagement Celebration!!!

That's right- I'm engaged! I'm so happy to be marrying Thomas Chambers! I love him and I'm so happy to be with him. Here's the story:

We met in our ward this past summer. I thought he was cute the first time I saw him at church, but we didn't talk until our ward activity. He came up to me and asked if I would hold his root beer float while he left the room on his phone. I, of course, told him "No." Then, to give me some attitude, he put the drink in my purse. I promptly picked it up, and threw it away. He seemed to be a bit hurt by this action and responded by talking to me and later asking me out. The best part about all this was that he got my number from the ward directory. Oh gosh. After that, we started dating (May 29th, to be exact) and on October 2nd he proposed in Temple Square.

I love him with all my heart and I can't wait to spend my life with him.
