park boy

Dean and I like to go on lots of walks and have even been able to start playing at the park. I'm loving this new stage where he likes to do things, even if it's just by crawling. in fact, each time we stroll past the little park area in the neighborhood, Dean makes noises to tell me he wants to play. he must like crawling up the steps and sliding down the slide with me!
...I just wish there were swings.

photo a day: week 1

this year, in an effort to better document my every day life (not just when we do something fun), I have decided to do a photo-a-day challenge. for Christmas, I got a new lens and this challenge will also help me improve my photography skills (or lack thereof).

so, here's the first week of the year in photos:
1. Tom going to play basketball  2. south beach  3. Dean's bath time  4. flowers  5. new skirt for me!  6. US-1 traffic lights 7. holding onto Christmas

our friends Matt and Diane Boyce came into town this week! they're running in the miami ragnar this weekend (good luck!) and maden some time to spend with us. we were able to join them in the fun at south beach. Tom was even able to come before he had to head into the office for work. we spent the whole day with them and their adorable kids. it's always a good time with the Boyces...

a few pictures from christmas

on Christmas Eve, we spent time with my family in arizona before flying out that night (on a red eye) to re-unite with Tom on Christmas day. it was wild. we enjoyed doing our traditional Christmas Eve dinner with my extended family as well as exchanging gifts with my immediate family. the flight back home went pretty well. Dean fell asleep shortly after takeoff and stayed asleep the whole flight. neither one of us got any restful sleep however and we slept for a few hours after making it home. our Christmas morning was late in the morning, but we had a blast watching Dean enjoy all his new things. Christmas is definitely sweeter with a baby. Merry Christmas, Dean! we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did...
